Easy as 1-2-3

The weather during the months of September and October can be somewhat of a challenge when it comes to figuring out what to wear.  It starts out chilly in the morning and then by mid-afternoon you have sweat stains under your armpits because you were supposed to be wearing long sleeves.  So how do you find the perfect outfit while waiting for Mother Nature to make up her mind?  Well it is as easy as 1-2-3.

Dresses for this time of year are very versitle pieces to throw on and then layer with a jacket or cardigan.    It is an easy 3-step process to be stylish, yet comfortable, and temperature appropriate throughout the day.

Step 1 - Throw on a casual dress like the one below from Target.  Although I am not a Tennessee fan, I'm really into the color orange this season.  It comes in several other colors and is only $28!

Step 2 - Layer a cardigan in complimentary color or choose a denim jacket.

Step 3 - Accessorize with flats or wedges while you can still sport bare legs and add a little sparkle with your favorite pieces of jewelry.

Voila!  You are styling and ready to go!  Just shed the jacket or cardigan mid day and you will still look fabulous and pulled together.

Splurge vs Steal - Fall Dresses

One of the many things I love about fashion is that there is something for everyone at all price points.  Whether your wallet can take you down the runway in high end pieces or down the shoe aisle at Target, you can look fabulous no matter what your budget allows.

One of my favorite things to do is browse through retailers such as Neiman Marcus and find a similar look for less.  I will occasionally splurge on a "can't live without" item, however I do love a challenge.  Finding a designer look for less is like eating an entire cake without the calories (or guilt)!

Neimans recently posted their "TOP 10 PICKS" for Fall dresses.  I've posted a few of them below and included their affordable counterparts.

Fantasy Football Fashions

I wrote a post about football game attire back in February right before the Superbowl (see here).  With a new season kicked in high gear, I still beg of you female fans out there not to lose sight of your figures and fashion sense while tailgating or cheering on your favorite football teams.

I do not expect you to pull out your old prom dresses and get decked out for games, but I do hope that you put forth a little thought and effort into making yourselves look fabulous while still being loyal fans.

I can't devote an entire year on what to wear for every team, so I've created one for the Titans since most of my readers are devoted Tennessee Titans fans.

To capture the Titan's team colors, wear a long (or short) sleeve tee in a navy and white stripe layered under a pale blue sweater.  For colder temperatures, add either a dark charocal grey or navy jacket for extra warmth.  You can pop the color red in by using a scarf, shoes, or even a handbag.  Simple yet fan worthy, right?

Camel Craze

Excuse the lack of a clever title here.  The only thing that kept popping into my head while I worked on this piece was Camel Toe.  And since I don't want any woman to EVER think that is an appropriate fashion statement, I settled for a simple Camel Craze.
The color camel is one of my favorites.  Not only does this color work with most skin tones,  it is timeless and a perfect basic to pair with just about every color on the spectrum.

Here are a few great pieces to add to your Fall wardrobe.

Another Reason to Love Target

I don't think I have ever met a person that dislikes Target.  Even my designer clad Dallas friends can walk through the door and drop $200 in less than an hour.  I recently heard one of my girlfriends claim that there is a $100 entry fee just to walk in the door!  So true!
One of the many things I love about Target is that they collaborate with designers to create affordable clothing, accessories, and home decor for the main stream peeps like myself.  Well my friends, tomorrow Missoni launches in Target stores across the nation.  I am so EXCITED!!
So you're asking me, "who is Missoni and why should I care"?  Missoni is an Italian fashion house founded in 1953.  They are known for using a multitude of patterns and colors in stripes, geometrics, and abstract florals.  And of course, they are VERY expensive.  Here are a few of the collection pieces from Neiman Marcus.

Knit dress - $695

Scarf - $175

Geometric sweater - $995

Here are a few of my favorite items/looks from the Target collection.

I strongly recommend that you break up some of the outfits above and make a statement with one piece.  Regardless, there are some fantastic items!  Hope you find something that works for you.
