Trend Alert - Tie Neck Blouses

With feminine menswear styles out in full force this fall, it is no surprise that blouses are trending too.  I'm sure you are no stranger to the tie neck blouse, but they are back and they are beautiful!  Many retailers have put their spin on tie neck blouses with bold colors, wearable stripes, and fabulous prints.

If you are looking for versatile pieces to incorporate into your fall wardrobe, than purchasing a blouse is the way to go.  It can stand alone with a pair of jeans and fun jewelry or be worn layered under jackets and sweaters well into the winter months.

If you already have solids covered, then look for one in a print or a pop of color to cheer up your basics.

Below are a few of my favorites and all under $120!

Also available in plus sizes

Terrific transition piece to wear now while it is warm outside and then layered under a jacket or sweater as it gets colder.

This is one for those pieces you can wear year round.  Same as blouse above.

Great update to the polka dot which is also a huge trend this fall.

Love the color combination of this floral print.

Looks cute worn with jeans or dress up with a pencil skirt and peep toes.

Buying a solid blouse can coordinate with multiple outfits.

Talbot's - $67
Animal prints are also hot for Fall.  You kind of kill two birds with one stone with this purchase.

Update your wardrobe with a little stud detail at the cuff!

Hot color for Fall!

A way to wear your tie neck blouse under a sweater.

Trend Alert - Faux Fur

Faux fur is one of those trends that you either love or hate and like everything in fashion, there is the good, the bad, and the hideous.  If you are planning on taking a daring leap into the fur trend, please follow a few simple guidelines so that you don't look like a cast member from "Clan of the Cavebear".

1. Keep it simple.  One item is all you need to make a statement.  Check out how Rachel Zoe accessorizes her outfits with a classic piece.

2. Look for the best quality you can afford. If the price is cheap, then it will look like a bald, dead animal at the end of the season after all the fur has fallen off.

3.  Avoid slutty fur.  Yes, you read that correctly.  No slutty fur.  This goes hand in hand with #1 about keeping it simple.  No surprise here that Snooki and Paris took a wrong turn with this trend.

4.  This is a fun trend, so please do not harm any small animals while trying to look good.  Keep the folks at PETA happy and find a piece that is synthetic.  Besides, these celebrities look ridiculous in my opinion.

Here are a few of my favorite pieces that are currently out in stores and online.

Vest - $148

Leopard Jacket - $79

Faux Fur Jacket - $79

Leather and Fur - $128

Fur Trim Winter Coat - $110

If you are still not convinced, here are a few outfits you can make with one vest.

Outfit #1 - Mix it with your favorite print.

As always, have fun with clothes and use trendy pieces to spice up your wardrobe.  If you're not into this particular look - that is okay too.  There is plenty more to come!
